It was a weekend of firsts for Jess Gardiner. She showed no sign of inexperience as she tackled her first Enduro-X race at the first round of the KTM Enduro-X. Her training in France over Christmas paid dividends as she confidently took to the course during practice and heats. There was no sign of nerves as Jess took the holeshot in the final and led from start to finish. Jess went on to win by half a lap from Kristie Mckinnon and Tayla Jones.
After the race Jess had this to say; “The organisers of the event deserve a huge congratulations for putting together such a great event. It was really encouraging to see almost a full grid of women line up and speaks volumes about the growth of off-road racing for women.”
“The crowd was so encouraging and it was incredibly satisfying to put in a winning performance. I need to give a shout-out to my step Dad and neighbour Mark for acting as my pit crew.”
Jess will be at round two of the KTM Enduro-X on the 15th of February at Parramatta Speedway.
