Sherco, Ballards Motorex off-road rider, Jess Gardiner is eyeing off her fourth Australian Four Day Enduro (A4DE) title this year saying she is fit, fast and focused leading into the event.

The 21 year old pocket rocket from Londonderry NSW, has been pushing her Sherco 300 in training and will be charging hard to secure the women’s title in 2014.

“I’ve been training really hard leading up to this year’s race and feel that I am at my fittest I have ever been right now.

Gardiner is no stranger to the gruelling racing format offered up in the A4DE having taken home top honours for three consecutive years from 2010 to 2012. She narrowly missed out on her fourth title last year after a time penalty saw her finish in second place.

This year, Gardiner is up against fellow ISDE world champions, Tayla Jones and Jemma Wilson and said these two girls along with Emelie Karlsson and several other competitive riders will be hungry for a title too.

“You can see from the AORC results that the girls are definitely getting faster with every race, we are moving up and ranking with the guys which says heaps about the level of the women in the sport.”

When asked if she was looking forward to competing closer to home in Dungog this year, Gardiner says the best part will be that all her family and friends can be there supporting her.

After the A4DE, Gardiner will take a short break before heading to the final rounds of the Australian Off-Road Championships (AORC) where she leads the women’s class by 22 points. She then jets off to compete in the final rounds of the Enduro World Championships (EWC), then onto the International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) in Argentina.

The A4DE will be staged at Riverwood Downs, near Dungog NSW from 11-16 August.
