Taste of a win

The 2016 Australian Off-road Championships raced to Portland, NSW for rounds 3 and 4.
The course was true enduro style course and set up for some intense and physical racing.

Only two weeks after the first round Gardiner did not have much time to continue her recovery, although two weeks makes a massive difference.

Gardiner pushed hard in the long difficult tests on Saturday to stay upright and find her speed. Gardiner was beaten by the physical endurance and strength required to muster through the rocky, hilly and off chambered terrain.
“I did my best to keep the pace, although Jemma rode very well and consistent. I gave it my all and made sure to collect some valuable points towards the championship”.

Gardiner finished 2nd place on Saturday for Round 3 of the AORC.

On Sunday morning Gardiner said “ I felt ready and had really sat down and thought about where I can push harder and take some more risks to aim for the top step”, which she did exactly that.

Gardiner rode very well considering her recent injuries and sealed off 4 out of 5 tests wins for the top step at Round 4 on Sunday.

“I am overwhelmed to secure my first win for the season considering the circumstances. I thank all the people who have helped train and motivate me over the past weeks including my family and friends for always being there. I am really motivated to see the outcome after 2 more weeks training before the next rounds in South Australia”.

Jess Gardiner’s next race will be at Murray Bridge in South Australia on the 23rd and 24th April for Round 5/6 of the Australian Off-road Championships.
